Las Posadas, Spanish for lodging, refers to the Nativity story where Joseph and Mary search for an “inn” in Bethlehem. Celebrated for over four centuries in Latin America, Joseph and Mary are turned away at each door. Westminster’s worship service reminds us that Joseph and Mary are strangers (refugees), and as Jesus taught in Matthew 25:35, His followers are called to welcome strangers and provide them shelter. Listen to our Worship Service at link December 8, 2019.
A knock on he door is answered, but they are turned away.
Again and again Joseph and Mary seek shelter, but again and again they are tuened away, and Jesus is born in a stable.
No celebration of Latin culture for children at Christmastime  would be complete without a piñata full of treats!
Topping off the morning are snacks and desserts and a fun time decorating Christmas cookies for a Westminster Christmastime dinner at the Porchlight homeless men’s shelter.
