The Foundation for Madison’s Public Schools is committed to supporting the education of every child by developing community partnerships and advocating for Madison’s public schools. Westminster is a partner in their Adopt-A-School program with Cherokee Heights Middle School, providing
  • supplemental funding for refrigeration equipment for the new Food for Thought Initiative Cherokee food pantry;
  • more than 300 pounds of food collected from our congregation and our neighbors for the food pantry each year;
  • congregation members who work in the pantry each week;
  • 15 crockpots per year for the pantry’s Fresh Food Crockpot Cooking Class for families with little kitchen equipment (the family gets to keep their crockpot at the end of the course!);
  • financial support to the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO); and
  • a widening array of interactions with Cherokee administrators, teachers, and families.
